About the Course
Title: TEKiMakers Lab: LEGO Robotics and Engineering
Description:
In this hands-on enrichment program, students will explore the world of robotics and engineering using the innovative LEGO Education and FIRST LEGO League (FLL) curriculum. Through imagination, teamwork, and design challenges, students will learn how to build, code, and test their own LEGO robots while developing problem-solving, creativity, and STEM skills. The course is offered in two age-appropriate tracks that grow with students’ curiosity and technical ability.
Track 1: Junior Engineers (Grades K–3)
Designed for young builders, this track introduces foundational engineering and coding concepts using LEGO Education Spike Essential and FLL Explore materials. Students will learn how simple machines and sensors work while bringing their creations to life through guided builds and beginner-friendly programming. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, creative design, and understanding how technology helps solve real-world problems.
Track 2: Innovation Engineers (Grades 4–8)
Older students will dive deeper into the engineering design process by participating in project-based challenges inspired by the FLL Challenge program. Using LEGO Spike Prime kits, students will design and program autonomous robots to navigate missions, solve advanced problems, and refine their solutions through testing and iteration. Along the way, they will also explore STEM themes tied to real-world innovation, sustainability, and technology.
Both tracks emphasize collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking while fostering a passion for engineering, robotics, and innovation.
