Collins Elementary Robotics
FLL Explore is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Kids will learn the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 & LEGO SPIKE Essentials. Students learn science concepts, apply them in a Lego model, describe it in a poster and demonstrate the model at an annual Expo. For more information, visit First Lego League.
(Open to Grades 2-4)

What is it? FLL Explore is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids through fun, exciting hands-on learning. What is the challenge this year? Each year, FLL announces a different challenge (theme) for the competition. Dig into UNEARTHED™! Explore: This season, children investigate the past as if they are a team of archaeologists. Create & Test: The children build and explore an archaeological dig site, and the tools they need to uncover mysterious artifacts. They also explore coding as they motorize parts of their team model toward the end of their experience. Share: The children record their ideas and designs in their Engineering Notebooks. They share their models and what they learned with others. Finally, they participate in a festival to share their team posters and team models with reviewers, families, and friends. Most importantly, they have fun!
What is the commitment? 2nd-4th graders will join a team of 6-8 students that meets weekly on Mondays/Tuesdays or Wednesdays 4:30-5:45pm, October-January at TEKI, @ the Florham Park Sports Dome. The cost is $450 per student, which includes all materials and FLL team registration. A percentage of tuition is donated to the schools PTA/HSA.
How do I register? Interested students can register via TEKI’s Florham Park Sports Dome & Event Center registration site https://www.theteki.com/live-enrichments
Want to get involved? TEKI invites any interested parent to join TEKI’s coaches in guiding your child’s team. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Howard Weinrib (hweinrib@theteki.com, 917-940-4711).
