Matt Baran

Hello! My name is Josh Frisch and I'd like to tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in New Jersey. Growing up I loved to play sports (basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball) and music (drums and piano). I continue to love both, but really only play music these days. I also loved to play and work on the computer, and I made sure to use one any chance that I could. I hope to instill the same passion I have for technology in all of my students.

I went to college at the University of Maryland - College Park, where I earned a B.A. in Anthropology. I was also very active in the marching and pep bands, and was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel with the football and basketball teams.

After graduating, I moved back to New Jersey and earned my teaching certification in Elementary Education through William Paterson University. I then taught for two years in an elementary school in Rockville, Maryland, before going back to graduate school at The University of Kansas, earning a M.S.E. in Educational Technology.

I once again moved back to New Jersey and taught third grade for two years in Highland Park before becoming a technology teacher in Moonachie.  As mentioned earlier, I love music, and have been playing drums for over 20 years. I am also an avid sports fan, and I root for the Maryland Terrapins, New Jersey Devils, New York Yankees, and New York Giants. Along with these two hobbies, I love to travel, play board games, and watch movies.

Hello, my name is Julian Putnam. From a young age, I’ve been fascinated with technology, innovation, and creativity, which is why I couldn’t be happier to work with the awesome people at TEKI.

I specialize in MinecraftEDU, graphic design, and all things tech. I aim to assist and encourage students in any and all of their creative endeavors.

On my own time, I enjoy music and art very much. There’s always a song I can’t stop listening to and I’m always searching for new music to hear. I play piano and produce my own music as a hobby, and I make graphic and traditional art. I am also involved with stage tech at the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Montclair High School.

I’m looking forward to using the opportunity that TEKI has given me to lend my experience and knowledge to the educational growth of the students.
